We've got talent!

In case you haven't guessed, music is a big thing in our house!

Randy just bought a "Kids CD" of bluegrass gospel music...the boys LOVE it and ask to listen, dance & play instruments almost every night...thank goodness Momo & Pops were willing to jam with them ;)

We now have drums, tambourine, harmonicas, jingle bells, recorder, piano, guitar, spoons, boom whackers and....my purple ukulele...which happens to be a precious gift from one of my all-time favorite families that I had the privilege of teaching. I was cautious letting Joel play it, but he held it properly and was strumming with care, so how could I resist? Who knows, maybe this clip will be posted on his American Idol video bundle?!?! ;)

Spring?

Friday we caught our first glimpse of spring-like weather...so we headed out to try the new bikes from Santa. Eli was having fun and got used to the idea of pedaling forward, not backwards. Joel did a hilarious impersonation of Fred Flintstone with his feet shuffling under his trike! It was SO nice to be outside, even if it was short lived...let's hope the Groundhog was right!

Eli's Family Day

Three years ago....Happy Family Day Eli!
Has it really been that long? Feels like yesterday...and then in some ways, it feels like an eternity ago. I clearly remember that day...went to school, had a performance with my fifth grade students, (I even remember that I wore my school tie dye shirt & jeans!), during the day I got encouraging updates from a Holt buddy, came home to my mom making everyone sandwiches to bring in the limo, (What eat? Who can eat today??) Baby Boy balloons from Aunt Kelly & Uncle George, Becky brought us bagels for the next morning, Carolynn & the kids pulled up, then Grandma, Pap & Grandma James....all excited and nervous... then my dad, then the limo...An empty car seat, Randy & I and the grandparents all piled in with Becky, Paul, Carolynn, Hailey & Konnor following behind....I couldn't eat on the ride, too nervous...we all piled out at the airport and Randy & I got our passes to go directly to the gate...and then....we got REALLY nervous....even stopped to buy tums and a Korean min-flag....and then the passengers starting getting off the plane...Eli was the second baby and then I asked to hold him...his escort, Mr. Im, put the carrier on me, so that I could really hold him and we all started walking to arrivals to meet the family...
