Let the vacationing begin!

School is FINALLY out....some big changes at the end of the year. Randy & I were both transferred to schools MUCH closer to home. Very exciting to not be driving 1 hour and 20 minutes EACH WAY to work. I will be teaching at two schools, as their full time music teacher. Waterford Elementary, which is 35 minutes from home, and Hillsboro Elementary, which is 22 minutes from home! Randy will be teaching Gifted & Talented (Spectrum) at Blue Ridge Middle School, which is 35 minutes from home. We are THRILLED with the commutes and the new chapter in our teacher careers.
The boys are fabulous...Eli has started potty training and has been quite successful! Joel managed to stay awake- through 2 sedatives, for his EEG :( So, we had to reschedule for July 21st. The good news, is that he has been doing great and seems like a healthy little boy :)
We are getting ready for lots of fun trips with the boys, now that we are out of school for 8 weeks of pure bliss!!!! Stay tuned...

Dada Day 2010

HAPPY DADA DAY!
To the best daddy in the world.....the one who plays monster with us, makes us mac & cheese with hidden beans and veggies, brings us bug juice after school, takes us to Taco Bell to play on the slide, lets us rock out to loud music in the car, and tickles us until we beg for mercy :)
We love you DADDY,
Eli & Joel

Traditions

This weekend marked the continuation of a family tradition. When I was little, my mom would take us up the road to a local farm for some strawberry picking. Then we would come home and make (or watch her make) chocolate covered strawberries....the tradition continued this weekend with my husband, our two boys, and my mom- their Momo.
We had a blast and will definitely make this a yearly tradition :) Next time, I promise to get pictures of the chocolate part!!

This picture makes me smile. Seems likes we are raising "Southern Boys" sitting on the front porch reading. It makes me think of the movie, Secondhand Lions...the great story of two brothers that are very close and their journey in life together.

Mama, Momo & the boys...a full circle moment!
