Can you just tell how much we LOVE and ADORE our son???? Yes, we are cuckoo parents :) The best part about this picture is that he looks like he just KNOWS we are nuts (and unfortunately can't do anything about it!!
And now...drumroll please....

Eli is WALKING!!! and he has learned how to entertain his pals, Hailey & Konnor (unfortunately not seen on the video, but heard!) We love this new "Howler Monkey" type screech...

Final Home Study Visit!

Today is our last home study visit!!! Eli has been home with us for 6 months, and we will now begin the process of finalizing his adoption :)
We have been savoring the last few days of freedom before it's back to work time. It's been a wonderful summer. Here comes MAJOR bragging:
Eli went from 0 to 6 teeth in 8 weeks and will probably be walking by the end of this week! He also grew 3 inches and has perfected "Mamma" at 5 a.m....smart kid! He's also mastered: High five's, "knucks" (think Barack & Michelle Obama), sign language for more & all done, drinking from a sippy cup, beginning to feed himself with a spoon, grunting when he sees Fernando, giving Fernando a cookie when he goes outside, blowing kisses (this one is hit or miss), "so big", touching his nose, ears and tummy when asked (although on nose, sometimes the finger goes up the nose!) and much, much more :)
Oh, and one other little thing....Eli is also getting ready for the arrival of his little brother in T minus 5 weeks :) :)

Pops & Uncle Paul

So the trip to NJ was really great. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the beach vacation. Now it's back to the drawing board as school begins for us next week :( How did time fly so fast?!?!?!?
We have two solid weeks of workdays before the kids come on Sept. 2nd. Which means, meetings, meetings and more meetings....joy!

Here are some more favorites from the trip to LBI:
My Dad just recently retired and it couldn't have come at a better time. My Dad has always been a "work-a-holic" so since his retirement, he has been spending lots and lots of time with Eli. To see them bond is just the most precious thing! My Dad is a wonderful Grandfather and Eli knows it :)
Eli LOVES the water and really enjoyed being on the wave runner & kayak. He watched Uncle Paul paddle the kayak and then wanted to take over. (And for those of you that are concerned, the water is about a foot deep and he was well supervised & protected!!)
